As an NCMS member you can submit nominees for the following awards for presentation at the 2008 Seminar. Please click through and fill out the form with your nomination. Your nomination(s) must be in by March 1, 2008. Be sensitve to time requirements for each award so that a proper review and selection by the NCMS Board of Directors can be completed..

Criteria for NCMS Awards

 

NCMS Society Award: Criteria

1) The NCMS Society Award shall be awarded based upon a nominee’s

individual contribution to the Society. Nominee can be an individual or an organization.

 

2) The nominee’s involvement may include participation on the chapter or national level of the Society in which the contribution has materially and beneficially affected the Society’s growth, performance or stature.

 

3) Nominations are received from each chapter, or from any member, and the award is presented at the annual seminar. The Awards Committee screens the nominees and presents their recommendations to the Board of Directors.

Information Security Award: Criteria

 

1) The Information Security Award shall be awarded based upon a contribution made by an individual or organization.

 

2) The acknowledgment may include government or private sector activity which improves or advances information security procedures, practices or policies of national interest.

 

3) Such contributions may pertain to any one or several of the functional areas of information security to include education, training, operations, or like activity which improves or enhances individual, organizational, or corporate performance.

 

4) Nominations are received from each chapter, or any member, and the award is presented at the annual seminar. The Awards Committee screens the nominations

NCMS Lonnie R. Buckels Presidential Award

1) The Lonnie R. Buckels Presidential Award shall be awarded based on extraordinary or unique contributions made to the Society or Information Security by an individual or organization.

 

2) This award requires Board of Directors approval.

 

3) The award will be presented by the President of NCMS at the annual seminar. Each award given will be unique to the recipient, as determined by the Board of Directors.

 

4) Society members can submit nominations to any current Board member for consideration.

g. NCMS Membership Contest: Award Criteria

1) Each year, the top three chapters will be recognized by the net increase of members to their chapter roster throughout the year. The increase will be calculated as a percentage of the chapter’s base membership at the beginning of the Society Year;

 

2) Transferred members from one chapter to another will count toward the net increase;

 

3) The top chapter will receive three free NCMS memberships; Second place chapter will receive two; and Third place will receive one.

 

  • An individual in the Society who has recruited the most members (to any chapter or chapters in the Society) will receive a free membership for the upcoming year.

 

  • The chapter having the greatest overall real increase in membership (not as a percentage of its base) will also be recognized with two free NCMS memberships;

 

6) The “Society Year” for this award will correspond to the timing of the seminar, and run from June 1 to May 31, inclusive.

 

7) The top three chapters will be provided with the name of the top recruiter in their respective chapters, who they may recognize at the chapter level as appropriate.
