c. All entries will be on display at the National Seminar. The Chapter Chairs will serve as the judging committee. All Chapter Chairs are eligible to be judges; however, if their chapters have submitted entries, they must indicate their chapters on the ballots and may not vote for any entry from their chapters.
The judges will evaluate the posters and media displays on the basis of originality, security message, and graphic concept. The winners in each category will be announced at the National Seminar.
First, Second, Third Place, and Honorable Mention ribbons will be awarded to the winning Chapters for each poster category and media display entry, together with a congratulatory letter signed by the President of NCMS.
The attendees of the National Seminar will also have the opportunity to select their favorite poster and it shall be recognized as the "People's Choice Award".
d. Any poster and media display entries that do not conform to the rules and entry guidelines will be ineligible. Posters should be in good taste and not contain materials
that could be considered infringements on any copyrights or trademarks. If the Poster/Media Committee Chairperson determines a poster does not meet these restrictions, the entry shall be presented to the
Awards and Seminar Committee Chairpersons for review and decision, which is then final.
e. A Media Competition Entry Form must accompany all entries. In accordance with the release forms submitted with the media entries, NCMS may reproduce and distribute the
winning entries. NCMS reserves the right to modify winning entries by placing the NCMS logo on the media in a manner that does not detract from the theme of the poster, materials, or trademarks. The
entry form for the Professional Design Category will specifically include a pledge to continue distribution by the originator on the same terms as before the contest, to preclude price increases as a
result of an item winning an NCMS award.
f. Non-winning entries are available for pickup and return at the end of the National Seminar, and may be resubmitted in subsequent media competitions.
