Wednesday, June 18, Special Event

The Seminar Planning Committee is excited to announce plans for an evening at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center, which is located on the Foxwoods Resort Property, on Wednesday, June 18.

The Evening begins at 6pm with a private tour through the 16th Century Pequot Village where you can "listen to the sounds of people at work and play: the conversations of daily life...the crackling of a hearth fire...the grinding of corn...the laughter of children. Enter a typically furnished wigwam and imagine what life was like before the arrival of the Europeans." Other highlights:

  • View videos of Native artisans creating many of the objects on display
  • Learn about the Tribe's social and political organization, ceremonies, sprirituality, medicine, and language
  • Visit the Arrival of the Europeans Gallery
  • Walk through the Palisaded Village exhibit and see the changes in daily life that resulted from contact with the arriving Europeans.
After your visit through the Pequot Village, join your colleagues and friends for a reception at the museum in the Gathering Hall from 7:00 - 9:00pm, featuring your favorite cocktails, tempting food stations, and a selection of hors d'oeuvres.

Want to turn in early? Since the museum is on property, you can take the Foxwoods shuttle to and from the museum, so there are no buses, and no set schedule for leaving.

All this for a cost of $65/person. Space is limited, and advance reservations are required. If you are interested in attending this wonderful and unique event, please click on the registration form to the left. You may mail it with payment to the address on the form, or fax (if paying by credit card) to Sue Morris' attention at 610-971-4859.
